San Giuliano

Perhaps the flagship of the three restaurants owned and professionally run by Peter Darmanin and his wife, San Giuliano is located in Spinola bay and enjoys spectacular views across the bay through the floor to ceiling windows which span three sides of the restaurant. This has the advantage of allowing one to enjoy the sea breeze when the windows are open and a great view simultaneously.

As the name may imply, it is known for its Italian cuisine as well as fresh fish dishes. The menu offers a range of Italian food with Italian named dishes usefully described in detail in English.

To start, you can choose from a selection of 7 antipasti - marinated fresh swordfish in extra virgin oil garnished with fresh oranges, and fresh clams and sea dates cooked in a delicate slightly spicy white wine sauce. There is a selection of soups, pasta or rice, such as spaghetti with fresh sea urchin sauce, or black squid sauce served with rice and pecorino cheese. For the main course you can choose between fish or meat, including fresh king prawns deep fried with seasoned breadcrumbs and batter; meat dishes including chicken, lamb, veal, and beef including baked lamb chops marinated in honey, ginger, extra virgin olive oil, white wine and lemon sauce. Vegetarian dishes are thoughtfully marked with a star.
